One More Stone: Jan 31, 2012

A small stone:
brass strikes brass
sustained resonance
a spark for dry kindling
hypnotic inner flame
________________________
gently now on the floor the vibration
                                       stills
i watch
thoughts dance wildly no stillness in
here
flames rising and twisting
writhing resisting drawn into
orangegoldamberblackandblue
joy and suffering fiery tango
dies down into peaceful warmth
even ember glow contentment
at last until lost again in the trance
of thinking thinking thinking thinking
oh
forget remember
forget remember
forget return
sustaining one note forever
never intended in tending this hearth
for how else would we learn?

The Healing Womb, a newly forming meditation circle for women on a healing journey, begins February 10th. For more information about this tele-circle offering click here, if you would like to join us "live" please send me an email

so I have enough phone lines available and know who is sitting with us.

A Small Stone: Jan 30, 2012

forget-me-nots won't let me
spilled from pocket packet
nature's cogs of return
sprocket edged seeds
dormant capsules
o’time tic-ticking
on my night-
stand  still
this sunlit
winter’s
morn

A Small Stone: Jan 29, 2012

Striated lichens fold inward as they brave the frigid air, clinging to craggy bark; fragile and tenacious all at once, this is life.

This is life.

A Small Stone: Jan 28, 2012

Shadows and light play peek-a-boo, lines and curves do a merry dance of their own, on a single, snowy, Sunday drive.

A Small Stone Jan 27, 2012

Miniscule galaxy born of shower steam upon January windowpanes, oh yes, a celestial vision of star-bright prisms and black pocked emptiness arrayed for one whose eyes, heart and imagination are attuned to observing beauty in the most ordinary of places, temporarily transformed into realms of magnificence. Gone in the breath of an open door.

A Small Stone: Jan 26, 2012

A morning softly lit; light waves ride on snow-mist, released by a winter yawn. Afternoon opens wide for twisted branches, as they stretch through January blue.

A Small Stone: Jan 25, 2012

aged, dark, bent by time
submerged in an ice-bound bed
slow to rise morning
